Geo Kaan

Geo Kaan is a teacher, writer, and tech business founder who has spent over two decades working in web development, UX, and Product Design.

In 1999, he founded Protoactive, an interactive studio for digital video and web solutions, and later launched FreesoulToday, a healing-centered tech support service. After witnessing the detrimental effects of algorithmic social media, he saw a need for a practical skill set to educate users and developed the SoMed911 framework. Drawing on years of designing curricula and teaching in-person digital media classes, the book synthesizes research, personal experience, and practical experimentation into a grounded system for calming and redirecting screen-driven attention.

He holds a B.A. in Applied Interactive Multimedia from CUNY Brooklyn College encompassing computer science, film, and design technology and continues to research the intersection of technology and human psychology.
