Devin Horne

Devin Horne is an American author from Buffalo, NY, whose work is driven by truth, resilience, and lived experience. Writing from incarceration, he has transformed his circumstances into purpose, using his voice to expose injustice, tell authentic stories, and reach those often overlooked and unheard.

Currently incarcerated for a murder he maintains he did not commit, Devin has become one of the faces advocating for the repeal of New York State’s felony murder law. His case reflects the real-life consequences of that statute and fuels his commitment to justice and reform, including support for legislation such as New York Senate Bill S8464 (2025), Amendment A.

Despite his circumstances, Devin has refused to let his environment define his future. He has committed himself to growth and discipline—earning his high school diploma, completing college coursework, becoming a New York State certified barber, and obtaining OSHA 10 certification and IPA training—all while continuing to write and remain present as a father.

Back Door Reopened marks his second published book, with a substantial body of work already written across multiple genres, including urban fiction, memoir, children’s literature, sci-fi, thriller and fantasy. His storytelling reflects both the raw realities of the streets and the deeper psychological, emotional, and systemic forces that shape them.

Devin’s writing is not just entertainment—it is perspective, truth, and purpose on the page. He writes to challenge narratives, document injustice, and create a legacy that extends beyond his circumstances.

Devin Horne is not just telling stories—he is standing as proof that even in confinement, a voice can carry power.
