Josh Burnham

Dr. Josh Burnham serves as Lead Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Odenville, Alabama, where he has faithfully shepherded the congregation since 2016. A lifelong student of Scripture, he holds a Ph.D. in Old Testament and Hebrew from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and has spent nearly two decades teaching God’s Word in both academic and local church settings.

Josh is passionate about helping everyday Christians read the Bible with clarity, confidence, and joy. His writing reflects a deep love for the Scriptures and a desire to bridge the gap between scholarly insight and practical discipleship.

He and his wife, Casey, have been married since 2006 and are raising their two children, Eli and Erin.

Above all, Josh’s heart is to see lives transformed by the redeeming work of Jesus Christ through the local church—the primary means God uses to reach the world with the gospel.
