Brenda J. Stemmler

Brenda Stemmler is a retired Special Needs teacher, writer, poet, and author of two nonfiction books. And now her first children’s book, The Reflection.

Mrs. Stemmler has won several awards for short stories and poetry. She wrote her second nonfiction book, Just Beneath Hope, in 2020. This book is a love story and a struggle with holding onto hope after her husband was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.

Mrs. Stemmler received her degrees at Missouri Baptist College. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Special Needs Education. Her Master’s Degree is in Special Education. She retired from public education in 2015 and continued to teach in the Missouri State Prison system, preparing offenders to complete their education by obtaining their GED. She is retired from teaching and resides in the state of Florida, enjoying her writing.
