Jeffrey Nesteruk

As an ethicist, I have written widely on legal theory, applied ethics, and liberal education. In addition to my scholarly work, I have contributed personal essays to such popular publications as The New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, and Philadelphia Inquirer and such higher education venues as the Chronicle of Higher Education and Insider Higher Ed. I have been a visiting professor at the University of Michigan, received a Dorsett Fellowship from the Institute for the Study of Applied and Professional Ethics at Dartmouth College, and served as a Zicklin Research Fellow at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Working with the Social Science Research Council’s Measuring College Learning Project, I coauthored the Project’s white paper on the future of the business major. A lifelong advocate for liberal education, I’ve led a Teagle Foundation study among Franklin & Marshall College, Bucknell University, and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania examining how to bring liberal arts content, skills, and pedagogies to the study of business. In 2017, I received the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching and in 2021, was appointed as Deputy Provost for New Academic Initiatives.
