Roberto Santos (he/him) was born and raised in the Mariana Islands in the Pacific where his father's family is, spending many years in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where his mother's family is. He is the lead research writer and excursion coordinator for Summit High Altitude Information & Research, a nonprofit dedicated to sharing and improving access to research and information about the many ways high altitude environments affect health, disease, and outdoor activities. An avid outdoors person at home in both the ocean and the mountains, Roberto has summited peaks across the globe from Colorado's fourteeners to Mt. Fuji, and regularly treks to Colorado's remote mountain huts.
