Emma Taylor

Emma Taylor is a Lecturer in Education at King’s College London, where she leads and teaches on programmes designed to support staff who are new to teaching at the institution. She joined King’s from the London School of Economics, where she was an LSE Fellow in Interdisciplinary Social Science and taught on LSE100, the School’s flagship interdisciplinary course for all undergraduate students. Emma was a Leverhulme Doctoral Scholar in the Department of Sociology at LSE, supported by the International Inequalities Institute, where her research focused on the role of private schools in the reproduction of inequality within the British education system. Prior to her academic career, she spent 15 years teaching in secondary schools in London, an experience that continues to inform her research and engagement with educators. Her work has been published in leading journals including Sociology and the British Journal of Sociology of Education.
