Hosun Kang

Hosun Kang serves as a Professor in the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine, where she also directs the Educational Center for Teacher Development and Professional Practice. Her research focuses on reimagining science education through a lens of equity and sustainability, utilizing collaborative co-design with community stakeholders to expand the possibilities of student learning. Her extensive body of work explores transdisciplinary approaches to climate and environmental issues, culturally sustaining classroom assessments, and the promotion of civic engagement through science. A recipient of the NSF CAREER Award, Dr. Kang has held leadership roles across major journals, including serving as Associate Editor for the American Educational Research Journal.
