Iryna Sokolovsky is a children's book writer and illustrator, and oil painter specializing in character-driven picture books. Based in Delray Beach, Florida, she creates engaging stories featuring two Chihuahua brothers: Royal and Treasure, and their protective butterfly companion as they learn to play and travel together.

With formal training in fine art and a lifelong practice in traditional oil techniques, Iryna draws artistic influences from the Renaissance, Impressionism, and Cubism. Her signature approach uses two live-model Chihuahuas as recurring characters, allowing her to develop authentic, expressive emotional depth across series.

Iryna's work encompasses character design, sequential storytelling, composition, and full-page spreads.

Beyond commercial work,

Iryna is committed to community engagement, regularly exhibiting locally and donating artwork to animal-rescue fundraisers. Her mission is to create colorful, imaginative stories that inspire children while celebrating the bond between humans and animals.

Iryna picked up an oil brush before she could write her own name in cursive. What began as a childhood curiosity became a

lifelong devotion: she has spent years studying the techniques of the world's most celebrated painters, and she is especially captivated by lost and rediscovered works of the old masters — pieces that vanished from history and, for Iryna, still whisper untold stories. That fascination with "the story behind the painting" shaped everything she creates today.

Her canvases carry the influence of the artists she admires most, reimagined through her own eye for color, light, and emotion. But Iryna's imagination was never content to stay inside a frame. The same restless creativity that fills her paintings eventually spilled onto the page — she began writing novels, romance stories, and children's tales, weaving the same warmth and wonder found in her artwork into words. Friends and family have long said the same thing about her: her imagination never rests, and it shows in everything she touches.

When she isn't painting or writing, Iryna can usually be found at the stables. Horses have been her lifelong passion, and her weekends belong to two she loves dearly — Royal and Treasure. Their names meant so much to her that when she welcomed two small Chihuahuas into her home, she gave them the very same names.

Royal and Treasure the Chihuahuas quickly became more than pets — they became muses. Their big personalities and even bigger curiosity inspired Iryna's beloved children's book series, following the pair as they travel the world, discover new places, and make new friends along the way. Through Royal and Treasure's adventures, Iryna hopes to remind young readers that courage, curiosity, and kindness can turn any stranger into a friend.
