Jean L. Casteel is one of the best author, certified life coach, and wellness advocate whose work sits at the intersection of emotional healing, intentional living, and human connection. With a body of work spanning relationship and parenting, health and wellness, and personal development, Jean has dedicated her career to one enduring mission, which is helping real people navigate real life with clarity, courage, and compassion.
Jean holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Master's degree in Counseling and Human Development. She is a certified relationship coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and holds additional certifications in holistic health and wellness counseling. Over the course of more than two decades working with individuals, couples, and families, both in private practice and community-based settings, she developed a deep, firsthand understanding of the invisible battles people fight behind closed doors.
Her path to writing was not born in a classroom. It was forged in her own story.
Growing up in a household fractured by emotional unavailability and communication breakdown, Jean witnessed early on how the absence of healthy relationship tools could quietly dismantle a family from the inside out. As a young mother herself, she faced the daunting challenge of breaking generational cycles, learning how to parent with intention when no blueprint had been handed to her. It was during those years of personal growth, therapy, self-study, and professional training that she realized one undeniable truth: most people are not broken, they are simply under-equipped.
That realization became the seed of everything she writes.
Jean began writing to fill a gap she kept seeing in her work with clients, a shortage of books that spoke plainly, warmly, and practically to ordinary people who didn't have access to a therapist or coach but still desperately needed guidance. Her books don't read like textbooks. They read like conversations with someone who has been through it, studied it, and come out the other side with something real to offer.
Her titles on relationships and parenting tackle the everyday tensions that quietly erode love and trust, helping readers build deeper bonds, communicate with empathy, and raise emotionally intelligent children in an increasingly distracted world. Her health and wellness works bridge the gap between the mental and the physical, showing readers that true well-being is never just about the body or the mind alone, it is always both. And her self-help titles challenge readers to stop waiting for life to change and start building the inner foundation that makes lasting change possible.
Jean currently lives in the Pacific Northwest, where she continues to write, coach, and speak at wellness retreats and parenting workshops. She is a mother, a lifelong learner, and, above all, a firm believer that every person holds within them the capacity to grow, heal, and thrive.
"I don't write to impress anyone," Jean often says. "I write because somewhere out there is a person sitting alone with a problem they think no one else understands. I want that person to open one of my books and feel less alone."
