Craig Rouse

Craig has always been restless. Not the anxious kind of restless, but the curious kind. The kind that makes you take the long way home, stop at the roadside sign nobody else slows down for, and order the thing on the menu you've never heard of. He spent years in the technology industry managing that restlessness responsibly, built something worth selling, and then did something most people only talk about: he sold it and left.

What followed was a stint of full-time RV travel across the country that was equal parts liberating and clarifying. When you remove the daily obligations and point yourself down an open road, you find out pretty quickly what actually interests you. For Craig, the answer was places, people, and whatever was on the menu.

The restlessness never went away. It just got more organized. He channeled his tech background into building platforms around the thing he loved most: helping other people explore. Postcard Story Co., Weekend Getaway Planner, and The Lobster Trail all grew from the same impulse: share what you find, be honest about it, and make it easier for the next person to show up ready.

He has been published in Escapees and Trailblazer magazines, both well-regarded publications in the world of RV travel writing.

Maine eventually stopped being a destination and became home. He proposed to his wife, Ainslie on the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, which tells you something about his taste in both scenery and timing. A Kentucky kid who found his way north and never looked back, Craig and Ainslie now live in Arundel with two rescue dogs and a shared enthusiasm for sharing Maine with anyone who will listen, visit, or sit down for a lobster roll. Today he can be found conducting walking culinary tours in Kennebunkport and Portland.

The Lobster Trail is the book Craig wanted to find when he first started driving the Maine coast and couldn't, so he wrote it.
