DJ Michel is the creator of Mitchy the Monkey: Dream a Dream, a story rooted in his and his wife’s journey to start a family—a path shaped by hope, uncertainty, and quiet resilience. The inspiration began with a simple moment: discovering a plush monkey hanging from a tree in a store, a symbol that echoed the small traditions and laughter that defined their early relationship. They brought him home as a reminder of perseverance and the dream they continued to carry. They named him Mitchy.

Michel was also influenced by the emotional weight of the six‑word story often attributed to Ernest Hemingway: “For sale: Baby shoes, never worn.” Where that story captured absence, he sought to write a different kind of ending—one where hope is carried, love is found, and the dream is delivered.

He is the founder of MoralCap, a creative imprint dedicated to promoting the values that unite us and telling meaningful stories that make people feel human. His work reflects themes of resilience, belonging, and the many ways families are formed.
