Rita-Graciela Werner was born in Hamburg—and has never belonged to just one category. Her work moves between media, art, and storytelling, driven by a simple but demanding question: what happens when you truly engage with something?

Her career didn’t follow a straight line. It evolved across disciplines—music, film, books. Together with Peter Popp, she created the internationally awarded full-dome film Where Forever Begins (Adamas – The Journey into Light).

A defining chapter of her life was television. She hosted programs for ZDF, Sat.1, TM3, TV München, and Tele 5. Shows like breakfast TV and Fort Boyard brought her into living rooms—fast-paced, present, fully engaged.

With Let’s Talk (Eichborn Verlag), she shifted her focus toward what lies beneath the surface: questions, encounters, real conversations.

Today, she lives in Mallorca, in a former lime kiln—a place stripped down to essentials. That’s where her paintings emerge: direct, raw, sometimes playful, often strikingly clear. For her, art is not a discipline—it’s a state of being.

Alongside her artistic work, she writes, develops formats, and curates exceptional travel experiences under her label Essence of Life.

With El Cielo, she returns to an origin: a story first written as a screenplay in 1991. Now it has become a novel. Quieter, perhaps—but closer.

A book that doesn’t try to explain. It resonates.
