Patrick Schömann, born in 1980, lives with his partner Jill and their dog Luca near the Mosel River. Dogs have always been a part of his life, but he only came to writing through a detour he would never have chosen for himself.
When his dog Luca was diagnosed with epilepsy, a notebook became his outlet. What began as a personal attempt to process the sleepless nights, the feeling of being overwhelmed, and the often absurd daily reality of the illness, gradually grew into his first book.
Today, Patrick writes exactly as he experiences things: direct, honest, and without trying to sugarcoat the hard moments. Whether in personal accounts or other projects – his goal is to capture the stories that life writes when things don't go according to plan.
