Christine DeSmet

Christine DeSmet is an award-winning author and scriptwriter, and writing coach and instructor. Her Fudge Shop Mystery Series set in Door County, Wisconsin debuted as a bestseller for Barnes & Noble bookstores, and was reviewed in the Washington Post. Latest in that series is Holly Jolly Fudge Folly. She also authors the Mischief-in-Moonstone romantic-mystery cozy series set near Superior, Wisconsin, the latest being A Moonstone Wedding. She has been a judge for several contests, including the annual Jade Ring Contest sponsored by Wisconsin Writers Association. She has spoken at numerous events, and for many years taught writing to adults and coordinated retreats and conferences as a Distinguished Faculty Associate in University of Wisconsin-Madison Continuing Studies. Her current monthly newsletter features a free course on how to write a novel. She is a member of Blackbird Writers, Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and the Wisconsin Writers Association. Christine has always offered to critique query letters and synopses for free.
