J. W. Ahrendt is the author of Evan's World: Finding Joy Amongst the Shadows.

This is a deeply personal narrative about love, devotion, faith, and joy, and tells the true story of a young boy, faced with a devasting life-limiting illness, who found his own joy in the world. As an avid lifelong reader of books, he believes in the power of words to educate, entertain, and inspire.

John has enjoyed, and grown from, a lifetime of experiences as the son of a farmer, father of a household, community leader, corporate executive, and strategic consultant. He hopes to share more of his experiences through his new voice as a writer.

John lives in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, where he is a fan of nature, food, sports, and reading. He marvels at the wonder of California and the West, from the ocean to the deserts, forests, and mountains, and draws on their healing power. His greatest joy and blessing is his family.
