Karine Bienfait

Karine Bienfait is a French children’s author whose stories celebrate friendship, perseverance, confidence, and the power of sport to help young people grow.

Inspired by years spent supporting young hockey players, she writes illustrated middle-grade novels where teamwork, resilience, kindness, and finding one’s place matter just as much as winning.

Her series, The Blue Line, follows a group of young hockey players as they navigate friendship, competition, change, new challenges, and the emotions of growing up on and off the ice.

Before turning to children’s fiction, Karine studied journalism in the United Kingdom and worked for international media including The Independent and CNN International.

Through her books, she hopes to encourage children to dream big, believe in themselves, support one another, and discover that some of the greatest victories happen far beyond the final whistle.

She lives in Paris, France, and is the founder of Éditions Maison Bienfait
