Sharron S. Davidson is a former attorney and member of a multigenerational New Mexico ranching family. Her grandfather managed one of the great working cattle ranches in the American Southwest for more than two decades. She grew up on horseback in that country and wrote La Conquistadora from memory — the sky before a storm, the sound a lariat makes when it catches, the smell of a branding pen on a hot afternoon. She did not have to look any of that up.
The manuscript traveled with her for more than thirty years before finding its way to publication. La Conquistadora is her debut novel. She lives in New Mexico.
