Pete Farhall was born on 9th March 1959 and grew up as one of seven siblings in a small Sussex village, where a love of storytelling first took root. Inspired by gentle classics such as The Wind in the Willows and the works of Beatrix Potter*, as well as later influences like Nineteen Eighty-Four, his writing blends warmth, observation, and reflection.
After a busy working life delayed his writing ambitions for many years, Pete returned to storytelling in retirement... discovering the stories had been waiting for him all along. His first published work, a children’s bedtime series, gave him the confidence to revisit and refine earlier pieces.
Now a self-published author, Pete writes literary fiction shaped by memory, character, and everyday life. When he’s not writing, editing, or navigating social media, he can usually be found pursuing his second passion: photography... though he’s still trying to work out how retirement became so busy.
