Robin Keahn Heim holds a Master of Arts in English, a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing, and an Associate of Arts in Foreign Language (Spanish & French). Raised in Detroit, Michigan, she has lived in Southern California for fifty-five years. She shares a life with her husband, Ernie, and their four daughters (Tamantha, Veronica, Elizebeth, and Kristina), along with four sons-in-law, twelve grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She continues to slowly learn how to love the desert by learning about drought resistant flora, and through the artwork of Georgia O'Keeffe. Her writing draws on her own experience of non-traditional families, ancestry research, and how language uncovers and decodes the presence of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) not often associated with young women, or single mothers, facing downward mobility following the death of a loved one or divorce.
