Stuart Slavin MD MEd

Stuart Slavin is Vice President for Well-Being at the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). A board-certified pediatrician and award-winning medical educator and researcher, he obtained his MD from Saint Louis University School of Medicine (SLUSOM), then completed his residency training at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), where he remained as a faculty member for seventeen years. While at UCLA, Dr. Slavin earned a master’s degree in education (MEd) from the University of Southern California. He returned to SLUSOM as Associate Dean for Curriculum in 2004, and while there, he led groundbreaking efforts to improve the mental health of medical students, which produced dramatic decreases in rates of depression and anxiety in students. Over the past decade, Dr. Slavin has been actively engaged in research related to adolescent mental health.
