Laurie Knudsen

Laurie Knudsen has a Bachelor of Arts in English and has always dreamed of being an author. She grew up in a broken family, with one brother and, after her mother remarried, a stepbrother and stepsister. She also has a half-sister on her father's side. She graduated from high school in 1985 and left the small hometown that had been home to try and escape some of her demons. She would only find more, struggle with addiction, and then end up raising all four of her children on her own, with only the surrounding village (her new small hometown) to aid her. Now with over two decades in recovery, she shares her struggles and triumphs on her blog, hoping to inspire those who may have walked a similar path but ultimately overcame the darkness and now walk in the light. She lives in Omaha, NE, where she enjoys her growing family. One that gives her a new name, "Nana," as she is blessed with five beautiful grandchildren.
