Susan Van Volkenburgh

Susan Van Volkenburgh is an award-winning author of Christian fiction and nonfiction, celebrated for her lyrical style and immersive reimaginings of biblical history. Her "Trilogy of Kings Saga" brings ancient Scripture to life with depth and spiritual resonance; the first volume, "The Stone of Ebenezer", received the Grand Prize in the New Look Writing Contest sponsored by WestBow Press and HarperCollins.

Shaped by personal loss, Susan began her literary journey after the death of her father in the September 11, 2001 attacks. Her experience of grief and faith is poignantly explored in "Silent Resolve and the God Who Let Me Down (A 9/11 Story)'.

With experience as an oncology nurse, homeschool educator, and member of the gospel music group "The Van Martins", Susan draws from a well of empathy and understanding, crafting stories that resonate with emotional and spiritual truth. She formerly owned Savannah’s Meadow, a treehouse bed and breakfast that embodied her love of beauty, wonder, and rest—a spirit that continues to shape her storytelling. Now living in Northeast Texas, she and her husband raise Texas Longhorns, embracing a life rooted in tradition, perseverance, and grace.
