About the Author
Mark R Wade graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Education in 1972 and a MS in School Administration in 1975. While in school he competed in Track and Field and contributed to two Big Ten Championship teams in 1969 and 1970. He spent five years teaching Government and Economics followed by 41 years in sales and banking. He retired in 2019.
His first book, “How to be a Happier, Better Person”, was written and published in 2025. Its target audience is teens and young adults. It was written with the idea of helping young people lead their lives in a way that would make them more successful in reaching whatever goals they set out to achieve. As such, it suggests over thirty Action Items that could be tried to reach the goal of being a happier, better person. It sets up a process of planning for, preparing for, and practicing the actions suggested in the book. It uses humor and some life examples to keep a young person’s interest.
Mark recently published his book in Spanish. Fourth year and AP Spanish teachers who are struggling to find reading material that is meaningful, challenging, and of interest to English speaking students will find that this book meets these criteria.
Whether in English or Spanish, the message of this book transcends age and is valuable for teens who struggle with identity.
Currently Mark is working on his second book. It is also targeting young adults with an educational theme. The working title is “Socialism vs. Capitalism for Beginners”. Expect this title to be published in late 2026.
His third book is already in the works. Again, it will be directed toward young people who need to understand how to reach a goal.
