Colin Hauser

Colin Hauser writes speculative fiction that strips away digital gloss in favor of mechanical resistance, cold iron, and manual timekeeping. A Red Seal master electrician and electro-industrial music producer living in Canada, he grounds his narratives in the hard physical realities of power generation, switchgear, and trade infrastructure.

His work bypasses standard cybernetic tropes to examine what happens when complex technology wears out, leaving survival entirely in the hands of people who know how to work with copper, wire gauges, and physical tools.

His debut series, The Familiar Stranger Trilogy, includes The Wires Between Us, Ghost Frequency, and The Honest Clock. Across the trilogy, he explores memory, grief, and the quiet heroism of maintenance, following communities that hold the dark through manual discipline, analog networks, and the refusal to let human presence be reduced to an algorithm.

Outside of writing, he composes and produces original electro-industrial albums that serve as companion scores to his novels, using physical synthesizers and deliberate rhythms to bring the mechanical atmosphere of his books into sound.
