Ron Carey

Ron Carey is an award‑winning Irish writer from Limerick, now living in Dublin. His poetry has appeared widely in journals and magazines, earning recognition through national and international prizes. He holds a Diploma in Creative Writing from the Open University and a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of South Wales.

His debut poetry collection, Distance, was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection (UK & Ireland, 2016). This was followed by Racing Down the Sun (2018), Songs for Older Life (2023), and A Storm in Arcadia (2025).

The Traveller is his first crime novel. Originally sparked by a writing‑class exercise, the story grew into a locked‑room mystery that introduced Inspector Michael Fury — a detective Ron plans to develop into a full series.
