Richard Tavernaro

Dr Richard Tavernaro has lived many lives in one. Raised in a military family, he spent his childhood moving across the globe before commissioning as an officer in the United States Army, where he served a total of twenty years on active duty and in the reserves. In the years that followed, he built an equally varied civilian career as a special education teacher, high school counselor, psychologist, and coach — before finding his way into the film industry.

A relentless student of the world, Tavernaro holds two earned doctorates in psychology and educational leadership, a master's degree in school counseling, and a bachelor's degree in psychology. He has visited more than forty countries across five continents — not simply as a tourist, but as a student of culture and humanity. He lives by the belief that the world is best understood from the inside out.

When he isn't writing, Tavernaro can be found underwater, on the water, or pushing the limits of an engine. An avid scuba diver and sailor, he also owns and competes with an endurance automotive racing team.
