Riccardo Rizzo

Riccardo Rizzo is a London-based engineering leader, software architect, and independent AI researcher with over 24 years of experience building and scaling high-impact digital products.

Currently a Tech Lead at Togather, he has led the design and rebuild of modern full-stack platforms using React, Next.js, and TypeScript, while driving engineering culture, performance metrics, and scalable architecture. Previously, as Engineering Manager at MachineMax, he scaled a globally distributed engineering organisation and contributed hands-on to systems tracking thousands of assets worldwide.

Riccardo’s work spans full-stack development, cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP), and AI/ML systems, with a strong focus on taking research ideas into production through reliable, real-world systems. Across his career he has worked on mobile platforms, distributed systems, data pipelines, and secure architectures in both startups and scaleups.

As an author and independent builder, he explores the engineering reality behind modern artificial intelligence. His work focuses on training and deploying language models under real-world constraints — limited hardware, limited data, and limited time — documenting the practical trade-offs that shape their behaviour.

He is also the author of books on Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, and an active contributor to technical writing and open-source projects.
