John Nosta

John Nosta is a thinker working at the intersection of technology, science, and human cognition. He is the founder of NostaLab, an innovation think tank focused on how artificial intelligence is reshaping medicine, business, and the structure of thought itself.

Over the past decade, John has written extensively about AI and the changing nature of intelligence. His essays appear in Psychology Today, Fortune, Forbes, Bloomberg, and peer-reviewed journals in medicine and science. His work has been translated internationally and cited across disciplines. Earlier in his career, he conducted research in cardiovascular physiology and later held senior leadership roles at Ogilvy, including Chief Creative Officer, Chief Strategic Officer and Unit President of the healthcare division.

John has served in advisory roles with the World Health Organization, Roche, Google Health, and ARK Invest. He speaks globally on the cultural and cognitive implications of large language models.

His book, The Borrowed Mind: Reclaiming Human Thought in the Age of AI, examines a quiet shift taking place beneath the surface of productivity and convenience. As AI systems generate fluent answers, something changes in the human role. The question is no longer whether machines can think. The question is whether we continue to carry the effort, judgment, and responsibility that thinking requires.
