Rachel Mead is a Somerset-based author, magazine editor and journalist. Rachel loves to explore her home county of Somerset and share her findings through her books.

Rachel's first book, '237 Ideas for Stuff to Do and Places to Go in Somerset, with Kids' is published by Little Legs Publishing and is a chunky guidebook to assist all parents, grandparents and carers to entertain the children in Somerset - the majority of the excursions and recommendations are free. Rachel's second book, '15 Short Walks in Cheddar & The Mendips' is puboished by Cicerone and shares her passion of following footpaths to explore the rugged Mendip Hills National Landscape. Cheddar Gorge is home to England's largest inland cliffs and as such boasts dramatic scenery, gravity-defying goats and the best Cheddar cheese!
