Chris Sutherland is a Scotland based wine communicator and author of If You Like This Wine… You’ll Probably Like…, a practical guide created to help everyday wine drinkers choose better bottles with confidence.

After years of watching friends and colleagues stick to the same safe wines because labels felt confusing or risky, Chris set out to write a different kind of wine book. Instead of organising wine by geography or technical detail, he focuses on taste and preference. If you already know what you enjoy, you can use that knowledge to discover something new without it feeling like a gamble.

Chris is a WSET Diploma candidate, a Valpolicella Wine Specialist, and has completed various other wine certifications. His work combines structured wine education with a clear, accessible approach designed to remove intimidation and build genuine understanding.

He believes wine should feel open, enjoyable and free from pretension, and that trying new bottles should feel safe, logical and rewarding rather than risky.
