Raymond Franklin

Raymond Franklin was born in Kansas City Missouri on 8/27/57. His father was in the Air Force so he was raised in South Carolina and then Georgia. He had a loving but somewhat turbulent family life. His childhood was pretty much typical, but he made some serious mistakes in his youth that led him down a path he never could have imagined. At the age of twenty-one, he was sentenced to death for murder. He spent over five years on Death Row before an intent issue changed his sentence to life in prison.

During his time in prison, Raymond had a transformative experience. He realized that he had the power to change his life and make a positive impact on the world. He completed his GED and two Associate Degrees. Then he started helping other inmates with their cases. Using his experiences as inspiration he started writing.
