Dennis Whitmore

Dennis Whitmore was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and now serves as pastor of St. Paul’s Reformed Church in Clear Spring, Maryland. For more than 30 years, he has faithfully ministered the Word of God—first as a United Methodist pastor and now as a licensed pastor with the Christian & Missionary Alliance.

Dennis’s journey of faith began with a vivid childhood dream of walking hand-in-hand with Jesus. Though he wrestled with doubts as a young man, God revealed Himself in unmistakable ways, drawing Dennis into a lifelong walk with Christ and eventually into ordained ministry. His passion for writing grew out of years of journaling, prayer, and preaching, which now extend into his daily devotional email, Good Morning From PD, and his radio broadcast, Points to Ponder.

Outside of ministry, Dennis enjoys bike rides and picnics with his wife, Denise, attending Maryland Symphony Orchestra concerts, and exploring historic sites. Since 1982, he has also participated annually in Bike MS, raising funds to fight multiple sclerosis.

He is the father of two adult children with his late wife of 31 years, Marcella, and he treasures time spent with family, friends, and his church community.

Dennis’s heart is to help others grow in their knowledge of Scripture and develop a biblically grounded worldview. Guided by verses such as Jeremiah 1:5, Hebrews 11:1, and Psalm 37:4, he seeks to encourage readers with this assurance: God is with you and will never forsake you.
