Anna Lysis

Anna Lysis grew up reading detective novels under a desk lamp when she should have been finishing her chemistry homework. Somewhere between titrations and crime scenes, she realized the two had more in common than anyone admitted. Both demand precision. Both reward patience. Both punish sloppy observation.

She studied chemistry because she liked knowing how things worked at the molecular level. She started writing because she liked asking what happens when someone uses that knowledge for the wrong reasons.

The Signal in the Noise is her debut novel, set in the Fort Kochi she knows from years of wandering its streets, backwaters, and colonial-era warehouses. The forensic science in the book is real. The tunnel system is not, but she wishes it were.

She currently lives in Kerala, India, where she drinks too much black coffee and maintains an unhealthy interest in cold cases.
