Jodie Odlin is the creator of the Hospitable Hosts book series and the owner of Tetbury Escapes, based in the Cotswolds, UK. A devoted mother of three, she brings a blend of big hotel training and real world hosting experience to an industry that is still defining what excellence looks like.

With a background in Hospitality Management and years spent in five star hotels around the world, Jodie learned that great hospitality is never accidental. It is designed, trained, and repeated until it becomes culture. When she stepped into short term rentals, she saw the gap, plenty of beautiful properties, not enough consistent standards, and she made it her mission to change that. Her focus has always been clear, lift the bar for guests, and back the women building businesses while carrying the invisible load at home and at work.

In 2025, Jodie was recognised with The Shortyz Award for Rentalpreneur of the Year, a reflection of the impact she has made through education, leadership, and raising the standard of guest experience. She regularly shares her expertise on stage and on podcasts, known for making hospitality feel both inspiring and practical, translating big hotel excellence into systems and service operators can actually implement.

Jodie’s story is woven through the Hospitable Hosts trilogy, a multi author platform that turned everyday operators into published voices. Across the trilogy and her podcast, she has helped share the stories of over 200 short term rental professionals, spotlighting what works, what matters, and what true hospitality looks like in real homes, not just hotels. Along the way, many authors have become more than industry colleagues, they have become lifelong friends, proof that community is one of the most powerful business strategies of all.

That momentum sparked what came next, The Global Hospitality Collective, a movement built to raise hospitality standards through education and community. At the heart of it all is the same message, great hosting is built on strong systems, consistent service, and a mindset of generosity, even on the hard days.

After many years living in Europe, today, Jodie lives in her birth city, Sydney with her family and her dog, Buddy, running her UK based business remotely with a strong team on the ground. She is proof that hospitality leadership is not about where you are, it is about the standards you set, the people you back, and the experience you deliver, every single stay.
