Roland began his career in 1984 and spent more than twenty years working in IT as a developer and operations professional. In 2011, he shifted his focus to Agile and Scrum, expanding his impact from technology delivery to organizational transformation.
He is a Certified Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) and has worked for over two decades as a business consultant across various industries, supporting organizations on their journey toward greater adaptability. Roland regularly speaks at international conferences, sharing his ideas on adaptive organizational design.
Since 2021, Roland has partnered with Alexey Krivitsky to develop Org Topologies™, a strategic organizational design approach that distills their combined consulting experience helping enterprises achieve adaptability beyond the team level.
In 2024, their long-time mentor Craig Larman joined the book project. The result is 10X ORG, an organizational design system exploring how product R&D and service organizations can elevate performance by combining human capability with artificial intelligence—unlocking systemic, long-term improvements at 10X scale and beyond.
