"Books are like parachutes - they work best when open."

I'm a consultant and decision-making specialist with over thirty years' experience helping people and organizations gain clarity, improve performance and make better strategic decisions.

On the personal front, I have managed to take some excellent decisions - I am happily married (my wife met me in 1991) and our daughter is, in equal measure, a brave, bright and kind young lady, just like her mother.

My work has taken me across industries and countries - from restructuring and transformation projects to one-on-one coaching. Having worked with firms in more than twenty industries, I noticed one thing: the best decisions - whether in boardrooms or kitchens - start with self-knowledge.

That's why I combine practical psychology, value-based frameworks and real-world lessons to help readers understand themselves and make choices that truly fit. Sometimes I use stories, and here's one I'd like to share:

Three gurus are comparing their success. The first boasts of two ashrams full of followers. The second claims three. The third says quietly, "I have one." The others are puzzled - just one ashram? "No," he replies, "just one follower." Who? "Me."

A guru I am not, but I believe the best decisions start there - with understanding yourself first. And having no fear of learning and trying - since decision-making is a learnable skill, and one can excel with thinking and practice.

That's what I try to show in Decisions That Fit. Its companion, Over and Over?, turns to the loops that keep us stuck - overthinking, rumination, procrastination,- and the tools to break them.

Find your way. Find your happiness.
