Sheri Rettew is a caregiver, nonprofit leader, and trauma-informed advocate who has spent more than two decades working in crisis intervention, addiction treatment, and victim services. She has trained law enforcement, medical professionals, and community organizations on trauma, grief, and youth protection, and has led mission-driven organizations focused on healing and advocacy.
But her most personal education came while caring for her own mother through the progression of dementia.
Drawing on both lived experience and professional training in crisis response, grief support, and behavioral health systems, Sheri wrote Letting Go, Holding On to offer caregivers the steady, compassionate guidance she wished she had during the hardest seasons of her journey.
She lives in Florida and continues to support families navigating trauma, loss, and complex caregiving decisions.
