Mark Stein has spent more than four decades as a journalist at The New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Bloomberg News in London. He was part of the L.A. Times team that earned a Pulitzer Prize for covering riots sparked by the acquittal of police officers videotaped beating a motorist during a routine traffic stop. He then co-wrote a book, Understanding the Riots: Los Angeles Before and After the Rodney King Case. Mark and his wife, the journalist Alina Tugend, live near New York City and have two remarkable sons.
