Zach Pratt

Zach Pratt is the founder of Odd Angle Press and the author of two poetry collections and The Hard Truths Journal series.

His debut collection, My Silly World, grew out of a life balancing the everyday with the joyful chaos of raising four children. Equal parts imaginative poetry and minimalist black-and-white illustration, it captures the magic hidden in ordinary moments.

His second collection, Soft Words, Hard Truths: Before Life Teaches You, takes a different angle entirely. Written in strict meter and rhyme, it includes 182 poems about the things we already know but still need to hear. Each poem arrives as a quiet observation and ends as a verdict.

The Hard Truths Journal is a four-volume guided reflection series drawn from Soft Words, Hard Truths. Each volume pairs original hard truths with direct reflection prompts designed to find the gap between who you tell yourself you are and who you actually are. Owners of all four volumes unlock access to The Hard Truths Journal Audit, a free companion guide that surfaces the contradictions and patterns that only become visible across 208 entries of honest self-reflection.

Now based in Missouri, Zach teaches and coaches at the high school level when he isn't writing or sharing his work on social media.
