Having retired from 45 years worth of Youth Work, I now write books to the same at-risk audience I woke up every morning, carting them to school, to court, or to drug treatment. At 19, I became a counselor at the detention center, where I passed out my manuscripts to our young clients. They were read so often, they came back in tatters.
