David de Haas

David D. de Haas, MD was born in Hollywood and raised in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from UCLA and his MD from the Chicago Medical School in 1983. He did his internship and a dual residency at the Kern Medical Center in both Emergency and Internal Medicine, and graduated in 1987, subsequently becoming board certified in both and specializing in trauma and critical care. He has published numerous medical and western articles and coauthored two books with prolific author Don Chaput. David is also the founder and moderator of the highly regarded Wild West Collectors Facebook group. He has been married to his wife Mary for more than 40 years. They reside happily together in the hills of San Juan Capistrano, California, above the Dana Point Harbor, and have three children and five grandchildren (and counting).
