Cressida Scot

I was born in Athens and moved to London at the end of the 20th century after a loss in my life. I moved to Britain because it had a special place in my heart since childhood, when my auntie and uncle took me to the British Consul’s New Year’s Eve party in Athens in the mid 60s.

That was the pivotal moment in my life when I first encountered British culture. After that I spent many holidays in Bedfordshire and South Wales and the Highlands visiting extended family and friends and enjoying time in the British countryside.

When I moved to Britain I immersed myself in the London’s dynamic cultural environment that provided both inspiration and contrast to my Athenian background. London represented the pinnacle of progressive artistic expression, innovation and educational achievement. That motivated me to study further in Birkbeck College of the University of London and the University of Westminster, in Management and Human Resource Management.

My journey in UK has been challenging with adjustment, hard work and studying. However in search of British culture, unexpected and hard to understand things happened to me -that will be the content of another book - that broadened my worldview and made me to re-evaluate everything I knew that far. My eyes started seeing differently and I discovered something else, something greater and overwhelming that shaped my literary voice and motivated me after a long journey and research to start writing books. The first completed and published is 20 QUESTIONS I ALWAYS WANTED TO ASK GOD. It stands as a powerful testament in my long exploration of the Christian faith from Greek Orthodox to Church of England to Calvary Chapel, and my enduring hope in the current strange, unprecedented times.
