Rob Duren

Rob Duren is an educator and writer whose work sits at the intersection of alternative education, adult learning, and institutional accountability. A high school dropout who earned his GED at sixteen, he later returned to education as a student leader, teacher, school administrator, and professor, eventually earning a doctorate in education.

Over the past two decades, Dr. Duren has worked across K–12 schools, alternative and correctional education programs, community colleges, and universities, primarily serving students pushed to the margins of the system. His career has taken him from the deserts of Arizona, the forests of Oregon, the swamps of Mississippi, the mountains of Colorado, and back to his birth state of Washington.
