Ingrid Wendt

Ingrid Wendt is the author of six books of poems. Her first, Moving the House, was selected by William Stafford for BOA Editions' New Poets of America Series. Her next three books--Singing the Mozart Requiem, The Angle of Sharpest Ascending, and Surgeonfish--won the Oregon Book Award, The Yellowglen Award, and the Editions Prize. Co-editor of two anthologies, she has taught at all educational levels, including the MFA program of Antioch, LA, and as a three-time Fulbright professor in Germany. A musician by training, and a recipient of numberous awards, including one from the Cultural Ministry of Munich and the D.H. Lawrence Foundation, Ingrid's fifth book of poems is Evensong. Her newest is Keeping It All Afloat, which takes its title from words by poet Audre Lorde: "Only by learning to live in harmony with your contradictions can you keep it all afloat."
