Todd Burleson is an award winning educator, writer, and teacher librarian with more than three decades spent working alongside young readers. After a lifetime of helping children discover stories that matter to them, he writes middle grade fiction that respects their intelligence, curiosity, and capacity for thoughtful engagement.

He believes that even when history is complex or uncomfortable, it is a journey young readers are ready to take. A former professional photographer who spent years in the darkroom, he now collects vintage cameras and imagines the quiet stories they may have witnessed. He lives in Kenosha, Wisconsin, with his wife.
