Andreas Dieter Kiss

Andreas Dieter Kiss is an Austrian author and economist based in Vienna. In his professional life, he works in corporate audit, a field that has sharpened his eye for patterns, contradictions, and the forces that often remain hidden beneath the surface.

Raised in a Central European family with Bulgarian and Hungarian roots, he developed an early awareness of language, identity, history, and the fragile nature of belonging. This cultural background continues to shape the way he approaches both personal experience and the wider questions behind it.

His writing brings together psychology, philosophy, language, and lived experience. He is particularly interested in what happens between people: how trust develops, how emotional distance grows, and why relationships often break down not because of what is said, but because of the conversations that never take place.

An important influence on his work is the legacy of his grandfather, the Bulgarian linguist Peter Alexi Djudjukov. Kiss edited and published his grandfather’s reflections on the origins of language in From Primeval Sound to Speech, continuing a cross-generational dialogue about language, meaning, history, and human expression.

His books do not offer easy answers or simplified formulas. Instead, they invite readers to look more closely, question familiar interpretations, and explore the emotional and psychological forces that shape relationships, communication, and personal identity.
