Heartstrings? Memory Companion

Karen Cupp is the creator of the Heartstrings Memory Companions and Reading by Heart series, designed to support communication, connection, and accessible learning for individuals with cognitive challenges.

With a background as a speech therapist, special education teacher, and elementary teacher, she creates simple, structured books that help caregivers, families, and educators support both memory and reading skills.

Her Heartstrings books are used to encourage conversation and engagement for individuals living with dementia, while Reading by Heart supports struggling and emerging readers with clear language and visual support.

Karen’s goal is to help every individual connect, communicate, and experience success—one page at a time.
