Sharon T. Markey is an American author whose writing grows out of a life shaped by faith, family, and long years lived far from her country of birth. For over two decades, she has made her home in Eastern Europe, where she and her husband serve as missionaries, planting churches and walking alongside people through both ordinary life and extraordinary hardship.

In 2022, Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine forced Sharon and her family to flee the country they loved. Becoming refugees did not simply change their address—it rearranged their understanding of home, community, and calling.

Now based in Hungary, Sharon and her husband are the founders of BridgeUA, a ministry serving Ukrainian refugees across Europe. They have six children (all boys) and a dog (also a boy).
