Vikram Athalye is a theoretical physicist and long-time educator whose work spans quantum foundations, open quantum systems, and quantum-inspired modelling across the social sciences. He is co-author (with Emmanuel Haven) of Quantum Modelling of Economic and Financial Systems (Cambridge University Press, 2026), a monograph that surveys quantum-like results and proposes a physics-first, quantum-physics-analogous (QPA) framework for modelling decision-making, markets, and economic/financial dynamics. Over two decades, Vikram has published in journals, given invited talks, and taught across physics and interdisciplinary methods. His current interests include hardware-aware applications of quantum technologies (quantum computing and quantum AI) in finance, logistics, and complex systems, alongside foundations-driven perspectives on modelling and simulation. He is also developing an initiative to translate QPA ideas into learning programs and R&D pilots for STEM students and industry.
